Answer engine optimisation that makes your services easier to understand, your answers easier to verify and the next step clearer for a buyer.
Get unstuckAnswer engine optimisation, explained clearly.
Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the work of making your website answer the questions people ask before they enquire. It builds on technical SEO: accessible pages, clear explanations and evidence that supports what you say. Ampliflow is based in Solihull and works with UK businesses. AEO sits within our broader AI search optimisation service.
Start with buying questions
A buyer needs to understand fit, cost, limitations and what happens next. We compare those questions with the pages already on your site, so the priority is a gap that affects a decision—not another article repeating the same topic.
Make the answer easy to follow
Give the direct answer first, then explain the details. Define technical terms, distinguish options and link to the relevant service. We review page structure, internal links and structured data alongside the words a reader sees.
Support it with evidence
A named example, a dated measurement or a clearly explained process helps a buyer check your claims. We look for evidence you can publish and keep commercial facts consistent across service pages and supporting articles.
Measure the enquiry journey
Track relevant search queries, landing pages and enquiries alongside sampled AI answers. A citation is a visibility signal, not a sale. Measurement should distinguish a mention from a visit and a visit from a qualified opportunity.
Know what you are buying.
What does an AEO consultant do, and who implements the advice?
An answer engine optimisation consultant examines which buyer questions the website answers, how clearly those answers are supported and where discovery or measurement breaks down. Consulting may produce recommendations; implementation is a separate responsibility unless the proposal includes it. Ask who edits the pages, fixes technical issues, checks the result and reports what changed.
How should I compare answer engine optimisation costs?
Compare the same scope. Record the pages and questions covered, the evidence required, implementation ownership and reporting method. Separate a one-off assessment from ongoing work, and ask about excluded costs.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO establishes discovery and relevance in search. AEO puts particular attention on answering the questions people ask. They overlap heavily: an AEO programme should strengthen the same website, not create a competing set of thin pages.
What should an AEO agency proposal explain?
Which buyer questions and pages are in scope, what evidence is needed, who implements changes and how progress will be measured. Ask what is excluded and how the work connects to enquiries. Scope and pricing should be agreed for your site.
Can you guarantee an AI answer or a top Google position?
No. Search engines and AI services choose what they show. We can improve the website and evidence behind your offer, but cannot guarantee indexing, citations or rankings.
Do I need both AEO and GEO?
The labels overlap. AEO focuses on answering buyer questions; generative engine optimisation (GEO) examines how AI-generated responses describe and cite your business. Agree the actual work rather than pay twice for the same activity.
Google says its existing SEO requirements apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. There is no special AI schema or file that guarantees inclusion. Read Google’s guidance.
