Make the message easier to see.
A busy layout makes the reader do the sorting. Good graphic design decides what matters, makes the information legible and gives the next step room to breathe. We work with UK businesses on the visual communication their project needs, with the outputs agreed in the brief.
Give the reader a clear order
Start with the audience and the message. Decide what someone needs to notice, understand and act on. Hierarchy is the order a layout gives to information through size, spacing and placement—not a reason to make every element compete.
Use the identity consistently
Bring your existing brand assets, typefaces and guidelines where you have them. We can discuss applying that identity or whether a separate branding project is needed. An individual design brief should not accidentally become an unplanned rebrand.
Design for the actual destination
A visual needs to work at the size and in the setting where it will be read. Agree the formats, content and technical requirements before designing. Legibility, contrast and image treatment matter as much as the first impression.
Make review and handover clear
Agree who supplies the words and imagery, who approves the design and what files are required. Rights, licences and any third-party production are questions to settle in the scope. Do not assume every file format or production service is included.
A better starting point

We’ll work through it.
No finished brief needed. These details help us understand the work before discussing scope.
- The message and the audience
- Where the design will be used
- Your brand assets and approved content
- The formats and review arrangements required
Before you decide.
Can you work with an existing brand?
Yes. Share the identity and the materials you already use. The brief can focus on applying them consistently. If the underlying identity needs work, branding can be discussed separately.
Is website or app design included?
UX/UI design deals with how people use a website or app, as well as what it looks like. It has its own service page. Website or app development is a separate scope from producing design assets.
Do you offer a fixed package or unlimited design?
The work is scoped around the brief. We do not assume unlimited revisions, a retainer or a fixed set of outputs. Formats, review arrangements and handover requirements need to be agreed before a quote.
What if our content is not ready?
Tell us what exists and what is still being decided. Content length and image availability affect the layout. We can identify those dependencies before committing to a design direction.

Before you commission the work
What makes a graphic design brief useful?
Name the audience, the action you want them to take and where the material will appear. Then supply the approved words, existing brand assets and practical format requirements. A proposal for one campaign asset is different from a repeatable set of templates; make that distinction before comparing quotes.
