Ampliflow AI Edge
Become
fluent in AI.
Beginner · Intermediate · Advanced
AI is easier to understand when you've got something real to work on. Start with a task, learn how to check what comes back, and keep the decisions in your hands.
Enrol free until 31 December 2026, and keep your access afterwards.
- 01You choose the task
A specific question. A clear boundary.
- 02AI helps with a draft
Something to examine, not assume.
- 03You check and decide
Evidence, judgement and a next step.
A result you have checked.
A person still responsible.

You don't have to be
an AI person.
You might be curious, sceptical or simply tired of hearing that everything is about to change. Those are all reasonable starting points.
Whether you're learning for yourself, studying or running a business, start with familiar tasks: answering a question, organising information and checking a draft. Fictional examples let you practise without sharing real personal or customer details. You don't need coding experience to begin.
We explain the terms as we use them and show where things can go wrong. Worked examples, questions and practice feedback help you check your understanding.
Learning that fits your work
Start with
your business.
Whether you run a shop, work in a charity or manage a team, start with tasks you recognise. Choose your business type, experience and learning goal to see a suggested path through AI Edge.
Find your learning pathThe learning journey
Small steps.
Lasting skills.
Three levels, one clear path. Beginner builds your confidence with everyday tasks. Intermediate takes you into research and analysis. Advanced moves into controlled automation, and you finish with a project that shows your thinking.
What's included?
18 core modules and eight AI Edge extensions: 62 taught sections across three levels. Your learner pack includes 54 scenario questions with explained answers, 27 teaching graphics and 26 short think-and-check activities, a workbook and two optional local practice labs.
Beginner
Use AI for a small, everyday task: give clear instructions, keep information safe and check what it gives back.
Explore the beginner lessons
- B01
Choose a task
Pick one clear, manageable task and compare AI with doing it yourself. Decide when to stop.
- B02
Protect information
Check which account you are using, share as little as you can, and follow where the information goes.
- B03
Give clear instructions
Write a clear, complete brief, compare answers fairly, and improve one thing at a time.
- B04
Check the answer
Check the claims, dates, calculations and anything left out before you rely on an answer.
- B05
Plan a supervised workflow
Choose where a person must approve the work, and test what happens if a step fails.
- B06
Show what improved
Measure the whole task, then explain the evidence behind your decision.
Intermediate
Move on to real work: research a question, weigh up what you find and build repeatable steps you can trace back.
Explore the intermediate lessons
- I01
Research reliably
Frame a clear question, compare original sources, and write a recommendation others can check.
- I02
Working with documents
Gather your sources, pull out information without inventing any of it, and keep track of versions.
- I03
Spreadsheets and records
Check the data, units, formulas and summaries before you explain a numbers-based decision.
- I04
Content and media
Draft text, visuals and presentations, then check the claims, rights and accessibility.
- I05
Customers and administration
Use the right policy to draft replies, and pass on exceptions within your authority.
- I06
A repeatable way of working
Keep track of reusable template versions, review a handover, and rehearse a project from start to finish.
Advanced
Put your skills to work on a small project: build a working prototype, test how reliable it is and explain the result. The optional local labs need basic file skills and Python setup.
Explore the advanced lessons
- A01
An assistant grounded in sources
Build a prototype grounded in sources, and test it with missing, conflicting or out-of-date evidence.
- A02
Controlled automation
Run a local queue with human approval, handle duplicates, and check that you can recover.
- A03
Evaluate reliability
Define the results you expect, score varied runs, and decide whether a change is ready.
- A04
Security and operational risk
Limit access, test untrusted instructions, and rehearse an incident and a fallback.
- A05
Adopt and scale
Estimate costs and capacity, plan a small pilot, and decide what to monitor.
- A06
Defend your final project
Bring your evidence together, show normal and failing cases, and explain the limits.
Understand what changes
Strong foundations.
A current perspective.
The AI Edge extensions show how language models actually work, how to follow developments on X and GitHub, and how to weigh up predictions, multimodal outputs and benchmark claims. You'll also look at the infrastructure behind AI, robotics and emerging startup ideas.

- How AI works: from examples to answers
- AI Now: find your way around the landscape
Intermediate extensions
- X, GitHub and papers: trace an idea to evidence
- Prediction, classification and learning from data
- Multimodal AI: when the input is not just text
Advanced extensions
- Benchmarks: from a leaderboard to your own evidence
- Infrastructure, edge AI and the physical world
- Startups, research and the next practical opportunity
AI Now helps you make sense of what's changing in AI. Each edition shows when its sources were checked, and we plan to review it every two weeks. You'll learn to check an announcement and decide whether it's worth trying.
Each level comes with an Ampliflow certificate of completion. We check your learning and your project first, then send it. It isn't an accredited qualification. Optional feedback after each level helps us improve the next cohort's experience.

Try a small exercise
It sounds right.
But is it?
A customer asks about delivery. An AI draft promises tomorrow. The policy says something different. Practise spotting the gap before anyone presses send.

“Your parcel will definitely arrive tomorrow. If it is late, we will refund the full order.”
Two confident promises.
What evidence supports them?
Learning you can inspect

And why.
Each module pairs a clear explanation with a fictional example, a practice task and evidence you can check for yourself. Study at your own pace and revisit the feedback whenever you like. Tutor-led delivery and observed assessment are arranged separately.
