AI training for work and business

AI training for the work you do.

Keep one familiar task in mind as you learn. All practice uses fictional inputs, so you never need to share a real customer, colleague or company record. There is no need for a technical background, a paid AI account or coding experience to begin.

Workplace AI learning

Find your starting point

Tell us the kind of work you do and what you'd like to learn. We'll suggest a few starting modules and a practice idea that fits your work. You can change your choices at any time.

A business type is enough. Please leave out people's names and private details.

Choose your business type and learning goal. You'll see where to start, a fictional task to practise and the checks that matter for your work.

You can read the outline now and start when access is agreed.

A simple way to start

One task.
Three steps.

  1. Choose one real, low-risk task from your working week and write down what a good result looks like. Keep that real task as your goal, while all practice inputs stay fictional.
  2. Practise with a worked example, then a partly finished version, then a similar task on your own.
  3. Check every claim, figure and decision against the original source and a named person before you rely on it.

If you are new to AI

Start with five modules.

This is the default route whether or not you use the finder. It keeps the first steps short so you can begin without working through the whole outline first.

See the five beginner modules
  1. B01 — Choose a task: Pick one clear, manageable task and compare AI with doing it yourself. Decide when to stop.
  2. B02 — Protect information: Check which account you are using, share as little as you can, and follow where the information goes.
  3. B03 — Give clear instructions: Write a clear, complete brief, compare answers fairly, and improve one thing at a time.
  4. B04 — Check the answer: Check the claims, dates, calculations and anything left out before you rely on an answer.
  5. B05 — Plan a supervised workflow: Choose where a person must approve the work, and test what happens if a step fails.

Sector starting routes

Find the route closest to your work.

Eight common business types, each with its own tasks, a fictional practice idea, a human check and clear boundaries. These are starting routes, not sector competence accreditation or ready-made sector courses.

Retail and ecommerce

Practice tasks

  • Turn a supplier specification into a plain product description.
  • Summarise a week of customer enquiries into recurring themes.
  • Draft a restock or supplier query from a stock list.
  • Rewrite one returns-policy paragraph in clearer language.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional online garden shop Bramble and Co, draft one product description from a supplier specification and a short reply to a customer whose delivery is late. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: A colleague compares the draft against the supplier specification and the order record, then confirms the price, stock and delivery details are correct before anything is sent.

Boundaries: No pricing, discount or credit decisions. No consumer or legal advice, and no debt or returns rulings. No automated refunds, account changes or order cancellations.

Trades and construction

Practice tasks

  • Turn handwritten site notes into a clear job summary.
  • Draft a materials list from a specification without inventing sizes.
  • Turn a supplier delivery note into an office checklist.
  • Draft a customer update from a progress note.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional firm Kingsway Joinery, turn a page of site notes into a customer-safe job update and a short preparation checklist. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: The site supervisor checks every measurement, material and safety instruction against the original site sheet before the update leaves the office.

Boundaries: No structural, electrical, gas or other safety advice. No final quotes, contracts or building-regulation sign-off. No approvals on behalf of a customer, inspector or manufacturer.

Hospitality and events

Practice tasks

  • Summarise a shift handover into clear actions.
  • Draft a booking confirmation from a diary note.
  • Turn a customer review into a short list of practical themes.
  • Draft a staff briefing from a confirmed shift plan.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional cafe The Willow Room, turn a shift handover into a summary and draft a polite reply to a booking change. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: The duty manager checks every date, table number and dietary flag against the booking system before the reply or handover is used.

Boundaries: No allergen, food-safety or medical advice. No automated booking changes, refunds or compensation. No decisions about a guest's request or complaint.

Professional and business services

Practice tasks

  • Turn a discovery call into agreed actions and open questions.
  • Draft a plain scope outline from brief notes.
  • Compare two supplier summaries side by side.
  • Summarise client feedback into themes without naming anyone.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional consultancy Alder Consulting, turn a client call transcript into agreed actions and a short list of open questions. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: The client-facing colleague confirms who owns each action and that no confidential detail is included before the notes are shared.

Boundaries: No legal, tax, financial or other regulated advice. No contract terms, commitments or pricing. No decisions made on behalf of a client or a third party.

Property and housing

Practice tasks

  • Turn viewing notes into a factual summary.
  • Convert an inspection note into a maintenance list.
  • Compare two sets of viewing notes for gaps.
  • Draft a factual update from a repair record.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional agency Fernwood Lettings, turn viewing notes into a factual summary for a landlord and a short maintenance list. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: The property manager checks every fact, date and address against the original notes and the tenancy file before the summary is shared.

Boundaries: No legal, tenancy or eviction advice. No affordability, reference or tenant-selection decisions. No property valuation, pricing or access to tenant personal data without approval.

Charities and community

Practice tasks

  • Summarise anonymised event feedback into themes.
  • Draft a volunteer briefing from a coordinator note.
  • Turn a funding report outline into plain English.
  • Draft a reminder notice from a schedule.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional Meadow Lane Community Trust, summarise anonymised event feedback and draft a short volunteer briefing. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: The coordinator confirms that no person is identifiable and that every figure matches the tally sheets before anything is circulated.

Boundaries: No safeguarding, eligibility or benefits advice. No fundraising or impact claims without verified figures. No sharing of participant personal data.

Creative and marketing

Practice tasks

  • Draft a campaign brief from a client note.
  • Write three alternative social post openings.
  • Summarise audience comments into themes.
  • Draft captions and alt text for a small image set.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional Northloop Studio, write three social post openings and one caption for a campaign, then note the claims that need checking. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: A marketer confirms the claims, image rights and accessibility wording before any post is scheduled or published.

Boundaries: No publishing or scheduling without sign-off. No claims about reach, performance or results. No unlicensed images, voices or impersonation.

General office and administration

Practice tasks

  • Draft a meeting agenda from an email thread.
  • Summarise a long thread into decisions and actions.
  • Tidy a spreadsheet of fictional records.
  • Draft a standard reply from an approved template.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional office Harper and Vale, turn a long email thread into decisions, actions and open questions. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: A colleague checks every name, date and decision against the original thread before the summary is relied on.

Boundaries: No HR, disciplinary or recruitment decisions. No payroll, invoicing or payment approvals. No regulated advice and no personal data beyond the approved task.

Regulated settings: general administration only

Healthcare, legal, financial and recruitment settings stay on general, low-risk administration. This is a boundary rather than a sector course, and it is not an accreditation.

Practice tasks

  • Draft a factual appointment reminder from a diary note.
  • Summarise a non-clinical administrative note into actions.
  • Format a document checklist from a file list.
  • Draft a neutral acknowledgement from an approved template.

Fictional practice idea: For the fictional Pinewood Practice, turn a non-clinical administrative note into a document checklist and a neutral appointment reminder. This is an outline for your own practice rather than a completed public exercise.

Human check: A qualified colleague confirms that nothing gives advice, makes a diagnosis or selects a person before anything is used or sent.

Boundaries: No clinical, legal, financial or tax advice. No diagnosis, triage or treatment guidance. No shortlisting, selection or eligibility decisions. No case, patient or client data beyond the agreed administrative task, and a qualified human reviews every output.

How we teach.
And why.

Every module pairs one clear action with a fictional example, a worked example, practice and explanatory feedback. Terms are defined at first use, and diagrams have text alternatives. An optional paper route is available and shows any missing software evidence.

Each level ends with an Ampliflow certificate of completion: a verified record of the learning you finished, not an accredited qualification.
